 Blurb:

It’s not just a love story, it’s an obsession…

Skylar:

Every time my neighbor jogs past my house, I do my best to tempt him. Washing my car, watering my lawn, doing yoga in the grass with my all my assets in the air. I’m not sure if he notices me, but I sure can’t miss him.

Then one day he falls… into my arms and into my bed. Surprisingly, we’re better matched than I would’ve expected. But when he reveals who he is, my world comes crashing down around me because if he finds out my secret we’re finished before we’ve even begun.

Cade:

Three days a week, I put myself through hell by jogging through my neighborhood. I suffer through it simply to catch a glimpse of a woman I don’t know. Every time I pass her house she’s outside tempting me. Until one day I fall… over my feet, over my heart, over this woman and into her arms.

I know nothing about her, but I want to discover everything. Even her deepest, darkest secrets. However, little does she know, I have one, too. One that may sever the tie that binds us.

Excerpt:

 Chapter One: Skylar:

I watch as sweat drips one bead at a time onto my over-priced yoga mat. The sun is so freaking hot and here I am, like an idiot out in my yard, bent over in the downward facing dog pose for the past million years. Okay, not years… maybe more like a million seconds. But my body has decided it hates me (nothing new) and is cramping while my head spins. Even better, my over-priced yoga pants have clawed their way up my crack (as well as one other place). And still…

No neighbor.

What the hell?

Despite my eyeballs’ attempt at bulging out of their sockets, I peek at my sports watch. He should’ve been by here two-point-five minutes ago.

Shit.

The man is usually like clockwork, jogging by my house on Monday, Wednesday and Friday afternoons every week. For the most part, anyway. Though, thunderstorms seem to discourage him from his cardio. (Not sure why.)

On those days, I would be willing to recommend another type of cardio to get his heart pumping. And maybe get his hips pumping, too.

Anyway… look at me! Doing yoga on my front lawn, on the uneven grass, waiting like a desperate woman. (I’m not, really, I promise! It just looks that way.)

But, damn, the man is fine and when he jogs past shirtless, he’s shiny with sweat, which makes me want to drag him inside and give him a sponge bath with my tongue.

My thighs start shaking as I peek between my spread legs, because, of course, my ass has to be facing the street. I want him to get a good look at what I’m offering.

I may even wiggle it a little when he jogs by.

That is if I don’t pass out into a heap first.

I sigh.

Then sigh again a little louder just for good measure.

Maybe it would be easier if I just took up jogging. Wear one of those sexy sports bras, put my hair up in a cute little pony tail, plaster a smile on my face and follow him around the block at a perky pace.

I’ll die first.

****

Cade:

Why I ever started this shit, I’ll never know. No, I lie. I know. I thought, “Cade, dude, wouldn’t it be great to up your cardio game and start running?”

I answered myself with, “Yeah, man, that would be great and fun, too!” And then maybe I won’t get so winded when I play basketball with the guys. I’ll have more endurance, I’ll look and feel younger, and…

Fuck that.

Running sucks. And I don’t even think what I do can be considered as running. No, it’s more of a jog. Or a lope. Or trotting like a donkey with a lame hoof.

Inhell. Exhell.

My chest burns, my leg muscles spasm, my balls feel like they’re floating in a puddle of sweat, and the crack of my ass…

I’m not even going there. (Trust me, you don’t want to, either.)

So, why don’t I just stop the torture? (Good question!)

I’ve asked myself that for the past month.

And the answer has always been…

Her.

I sacrifice three days a week just to see a woman I don’t know.

Not sure why, but she always seems to be outside at the same time of the day. For that reason, I make sure that’s when I go running (jogging, trotting, limping) by.

Am I crazy to torture myself because I find someone attractive and I’d like to get her attention?

Eh. Maybe.

Why don’t I just knock on her door and ask her out? (Another good question.)

Maybe I want to impress her with my physique and athletic prowess.

But honestly, something has to give and it has to be soon. Because this running shit sucks balls and I’d rather stick razor blades under my fingernails.

At least my slow trot is the right speed to observe her without being creepy. Walking would be too slow and obvious. Driving too quick and useless, not to mention dangerous when she’s clearly a distraction.

And, of course, my pace always allows me enough time to enjoy the show she gives me.

On Wednesday, she was out washing her car, her top soaked, her nipples pushing through the thin fabric of her shirt, and when she bent over to scrub the hood of said car, my boner just about popped out of my shorts. You know, those little nylon running shorts. The ones with the mesh liner, clearly not made for sexual arousal.

But I digress.

The week before, she was out watering her lawn. And, once again, her top was wetter than her grass.

Here’s the thing, the entire neighborhood has built-in sprinklers.

Maybe hers are broken.

It’s possible.

I grunt as I turn the corner and try to push myself a little faster since I’m off my game today. I’m later than normal, and I want my running to look as effortless as possible. It needs to look as though I’ve got my shit together and I’m not secretly suffering.

My eyes swing to the left as I jog. She’s the fourth house up. The brick ranch home with the two-car garage.

Two houses to go yet.

One house.

My eyes widen as I see her ass in tight black yoga pants in the air. My step stutters but I can’t stop my momentum.

My mouth becomes an O, partly because I’m falling over my own two feet, the other because she’s dropped to her knees and is now arching backwards grabbing onto her heels, her generous tits straining against her top.

Last thing I see is her blinking upside down at me as her head hangs down her back.

Suddenly, I’m staring at nothing but pavement (and my loss of manhood). The little bit of oxygen I had sucked into my lungs is now gone.

Then, what seems like seconds later, bare, cute, red painted toes come into view.

I want to just die.

Excerpt

“Uh, uh, uh, I haven’t said you could come yet.” He grabbed me by the shoulders and pulled me up ever so slightly. It was a tough position to maneuver me in, so he was gentle and cautious with his movements. Throwing my back out at a time like this would be a total mood killer. He sat on the edge of the bed, holding my shoulders and angling me over his raging hard-on. “Suck it.”
My mouth salivated at the idea of being so full, every possible hole occupied. I nearly lunged forward to take him into my mouth, but he had all the control as my hands were bound. He set his own pace, gently easing his cock into my mouth and to the back of my throat so as not to gag me and cause me to throw up. He fucked my mouth hard and fast once he was sure I’d suppressed my gag reflex, slamming my face into his pelvis. His crown knocked my tonsils with every thrust; I tried desperately to twist and twirl my tongue, suck and blow and hum, determined to please him and bring him as much pleasure as I possibly could.
Tears streamed down my face and I was desperate to swallow all the spit in my mouth by the time he pulled me up. A sweet caress of his hand wiped away my tears, and he brought a cup of water to my lips. I drank it greedily, not caring that most of it ended up running down my chest. And then he placed me back on the bed, on my front, my feet still firmly on the floor and my hands still bound. The soft duvet tickled my cheek, and I closed my eyes for a brief second, welcoming the respite, but also wound up and needy for release.

Neither of us had come yet, and the need for an orgasm buzzed around the room like the din of an old TV. He stood behind me and slowly pulled out the butt plug, running his fingers up the cleft of my butt cheeks, one rogue digit probing ever so slightly and sending a jolt of longing straight through my entire body. I’m pretty sure I felt it at the tips of my hair. I pushed into his hand, desperate for more, and he gave it to me, slipping in another finger as his other hand pulled and twisted on the vibrator. I was ready to combust on the spot.

About the Author
A Canadian West Coast baby born and raised, Whitley is married to her high school sweetheart, and together they have a spirited toddler and a fluffy dog. She spends her days making food that gets thrown on the floor, vacuuming Cheerios out from under the couch and making sure that the dog food doesn’t end up in the air conditioner. But when nap time comes, and it’s not quite wine o’clock, Whitley sits down, avoids the pile of laundry on the couch, and writes.

A lover of all things decadent; wine, cheese, chocolate and spicy erotic romance, Whitley brings the humorous side of sex, the ridiculous side of relationships and the suspense of everyday life into her stories. With mommy wars, body issues, threesomes, bondage and role-playing, these books have everything we need to satisfy the curious kink in all of us.

Blurb:

Welcome to Shadow Valley where the Dirty Angels MC rules. Get ready to get Down & Dirty because this is Hawk’s story…

When strong statements must be made, Hawk, as the MC’s VP, must be the one to make them. But that doesn’t mean there aren’t consequences, like him landing in jail. Though the club keeps an attorney on retainer, the one who shows up isn’t quite who he’s expecting. Not even close.

Feisty, classy, and curvy, this attorney pushes his buttons in all the right ways. And Hawk can’t ignore a challenge. However, she’s so out of his league, he can’t hope for anything more than a few chances to scratch all her itches.

When Kiki’s boss hands over the club’s account, she doesn’t know what to expect and her meeting with the overbearing, bad boy biker goes anything but smoothly. Like Hawk, Kiki loves a challenge, too. But getting involved in the club and its VP may not be what she bargained for. Especially when it comes to several run-ins with a rival MC, including one which may very well affect the rest of her life.

Kiki needs to decide if becoming involved with Hawk is worth not only the judgment from her peers but, even worse, the violent mayhem the club becomes entangled in.

Trigger warning: This story includes a violent situation that includes kidnapping, physical and sexual assault. Note: This book can be read as a standalone. It includes lots of steamy scenes, biker slang, cursing, some violence and, of course, an HEA. If you like alpha males who take charge, this book is for you.

 Hawk Teaser 2.jpg

Excerpt:

Kiki sat behind the table about to not only face an unhappy judge but she was being seared by the heat of the large biker sitting next to her, who just stared at her.

Well, she did tell him not to stare at the judge. So, it was all her fault.

She really should rethink her career. She should switch to real estate law like her ex. Elder law, family law. Something, anything other than defending a badass biker and his “brothers.”

She bit back a groan. If she knew this was where she would end up, she certainly wouldn’t have joined Pannebaker’s firm. Even though it was one of the best criminal defense firms in the area.

She should be wondering how a motorcycle club consisting of a bunch of derelicts could afford Pannebaker’s hourly rate. Though, they had no problem paying for the damage done to that pub in South Side. The club’s treasurer, Ace, simply scribbled out a check for six figures.  He didn’t even tell the owners to hold it before cashing. No. He said it was good and could be deposited right away.

Imagine that. But all that money could come from illegal activities. Though, Pannebaker assured her she wouldn’t be representing an outlaw club, that they were on the up and up.

Kiki let out a snort. Right.

“You okay?” came the deep voice next to her.

She refused to turn her head toward him when he was this close. His heavy denim-clad thigh brushed against her stockings. No suit for this guy’s courtroom appearance. No. He insisted on wearing his whole biker get-up sans the vest with filthy patches she insisted he not wear.

She cleared her throat. “Perfect. Remember to keep your mouth shut and at least appear sorry for your actions,” she whispered.

“Not sorry.”

She ground her molars and then unlocked her jaw. “Act like it.”

Fingers brushed along her knee and then the skin at the edge of her skirt. She sucked in a sharp breath.

“Get outta here today an’ then we’ll have our appointment later.”

Oh good lord. He actually took her serious when she made that so-called appointment. She had to clear that misconception up and do it quickly.

“I was only kidding about the appointment,” she whispered fiercely. She gritted her teeth against the shiver that wanted to run through her as his fingers climbed her thigh.

She should be very afraid of this man and not for the obvious reasons.

“I wasn’t,” he said way too softly.

Apparently.

Before she could smack his hand away, the District Justice entered the room and they all stood, including the hunk of tattooed muscle next to her, who was suddenly stuck to her side. Like Gorilla glue.

Kiki swallowed hard and her nipples pebbled under her blouse. Great. That wouldn’t be too obvious.

“Ms. Clark,” Judge Powers greeted her.

She shifted an inch to the right to give herself some breathing room. “Your Honor.”

He sat and so did everyone else. Well, everyone except for Hawk.

“Sit down,” she demanded under her breath, tugging at his faded Myrtle Beach Biker Week T-shirt.

With a smile, he sat, his body visibly shaking in silent laughter.

“So, what do we have here, Ms. Clark? A,” the judge glanced down at his papers, “member of a motorcycle gang who decided to come into my district and make a mess.”

“Club, Your Honor.”

Judge Powers looked up. “What was that, Ms. Clark?”

“It’s a club, Your Honor, not a gang. They’re not engaged in any illegal activities.” Holy crap, she hoped that was true.

“A club,” he repeated like he was taste-testing the word. “You mean a club like the Boy Scouts?”

“Very similar, sir.”

The judge let out a bark of a laugh then his eyes swung to her client, then back to Hawk’s father, Ace, and his brother, Diesel, who sat in the seats directly behind them.

“What badge do they get for beating up a member of another club?”

“Your Honor, Mr. Dougherty has seen the error of—”

Powers raised his hand, palm out toward her. “Save it, Ms. Clark. I wasn’t born yesterday.”

“But—”

Powers interrupted her again. “Here’s the deal, Ms. Clark. You want to defend such upstanding gentleman? That’s fine. But maybe you should be responsible for them. Or at least,” he wagged a finger at Hawk, “this one.”

Oh shit. “Your Honor…”

“No, Ms. Clark. You can be his babysitter for the next three months.”

Oh shit. “Your Honor, please!”

“Want me to make it six?”

Oh shit. Kiki sucked in a breath. “No, Your Honor.”

And not just no. Hell no! She did not want to get stuck being responsible for a damn biker. Pannebaker couldn’t pay her enough.

For crissakes, she’d quit.

Walk right out.

#NSFW Excerpt

Back up on all fours I was hauled, and this time instead of the willow branch, he reached for something small with a chain off the nightstand.

Ooh, the nipple clamps—yes!

He brought each of my nipples into his mouth, sucked and laved until they were hard points, before fastening the rubber-tipped clamps. A dull pain swept through my breasts, making its way down the rest of my body, landing and growing warm and wonderful between my legs.

Seconds later he was back inside, thrusting hard, riding me. His hands gripped my hips, and his fingers roughly kneaded my already hypersensitive skin.

“Your ass is so fucking sexy with all these marks. I want to bite it.”

Before I could say anything, before I could beg him to bite my ass and make me burn, he pulled out and ducked his head. I thought for sure he was going to take a chunk out of me, and I braced myself for it. I loved a good vampire bite; nothing wrong with teeth.

Only he didn’t bite. Instead he snaked his tongue between my legs and up through my slick folds. I pressed back into him and spread my thighs wide, the orgasm building again and this time unwilling to go unanswered. Swirling his tongue around my clit until I was a mewling mess, he beckoned my release. He plunged two fingers inside and pumped, coaxed, twiddled, scissored just right. I was panting and frantic and so damn needy, at that moment I would have done anything to come. And of course that’s when he bit me. And it wasn’t just a sweet little nip on the back of my thigh, either. No. My husband went in like a fucking lion, chomping down hard and pulling the chain between the nipple clamps as well, until he earned the scream from my lips he craved.

I heard the tear of a condom wrapper, and seconds later he was back inside me. This time the mission was clear. We were done playing games. Wrapping one arm around my waist, he dipped his hand between my legs and began drawing luscious circles around my hard and swollen clit, his fingers gliding with ease up through my cleft.

“You’re going to come hard for me, aren’t you, my sexy little masochist?”

“Yes,” I panted. My whole body buzzed with the desire to come, the need so all-consuming, at that point I might have chosen an orgasm over breathing.

“Then come for me.” He pinched my clit; I let go. My mouth opened, but nothing besides warm air came out, followed by a weird squeak. Bright and colorful lights flashed behind my closed lids, and my pulse thundered in my ears. I heard Garret break behind me, then stiffen as he found his release.

Moments later, he nipped my ear. “Best fucking head, best fucking wife, best fucking fuck of my life.”

I didn’t bother opening my eyes, but I smiled. The compliments didn’t get much better than that. My entire body was slipping into atrophy, and my ass stung like a bitch. “Same here, baby. Same here.”

EXCERPTS

From Kittens For Christmas by Caitlyn Lynch

Ric looked at Reggie sitting there on the floor next to him, a pair of fools caring for some orphaned kittens early in the morning on Christmas Day, and he wondered if she’d slap his face if he kissed her. She’d fallen asleep on his shoulder mid-sentence earlier, and snuggled up to him with the cutest little sound of protest when he tried to carefully shift her off. In the end he’d just leaned his head back on the couch and dropped off to sleep himself.

Reggie’s brown eyes sparkled as she laughed, and impulsively Ric reached out a hand and touched one of hers, resting lax on her knee.

“Hey. I’m glad I met you coming in tonight. Last night, I mean, it’s morning now…”

Ugh, that was so not smooth. Why does my brain always fail me when I’m talking to an attractive woman?

Reggie was smiling at him, though. “I’m glad, too,” she said softly, and her slight, fine-boned hand turned under his so their fingers interlaced.

Ric’s brain stalled out and failed him completely. He just stared at her hand under his, at least until Reggie let out a soft, husky little laugh. His eyes snapped up to her face – which was suddenly a lot closer.

This is actually happening. He was suddenly as nervous as a teenage boy with his first crush, palms sweating, hands shaking.

Reggie’s lips were soft against his, a light, tentative touch before she pulled back, looking at him with wide eyes.

She can’t be nervous. She’s gorgeous, she could have any guy she wanted. That look of nervous worry, of concern that he might not be into her, absolutely killed him. No way could he let her have that impression, even for one second. So he leaned closer and brought up his free hand to cup her cheek, fingers sliding into her thick ringlets, feeling their springy texture.

“God damn, but you’re beautiful,” he murmured before bringing their mouths back together. He felt her lips curve up in a pleased smile, right before they parted, welcoming in his tongue as he probed lightly.

Ric felt Reggie’s soft sigh all through his body; the little moan she let out as he explored her mouth had his cock hardening in his pants. Her fingers tightened around his before she moved, going to her knees beside him and putting her free arm around him, pulling their bodies flush against each other.

It was Ric’s turn to make a noise, a low hungry groan in his throat as Reggie’s breasts pressed against his chest. Leaning back against the couch, he pulled her with him and she straddled his thighs, settling her groin against his.

“Reggie,” his voice came out a husky rasp as she pulled away from the kiss and ducked down to nip and lick at his neck, finding that sensitive spot in the hollow of his collarbone which made him shudder, hips jerking up involuntarily. “What are we doing?”

“Well,” she paused to swirl her tongue in the hollow of his throat, “right now we’re making out, and since our charges are full of milk and sound asleep, I think we should take advantage of the temporary quiet to go ahead and fuck.”

His eyes, half-lidded with pleasure, flew wide open. “Well,” he said after recovering his composure, “that’s direct.”

Reggie chuckled and leaned back to look him in the eye. “I’m not one to talk around a situation. You’re hot, I’m horny, it’s Christmas, let’s have fun.”

“I think you’ve got it the wrong way round.”

Her brows furrowed adorably, a small line appearing between them.

You’re hot and I’m horny. But the floor’s too hard and the couch is too small, so how about we take this to the bedroom?”

From Santa Claus Is Coming by Jennie Kew:

“Please tell me that was the last one.”

Holly grins. “That was the last one.”

“Oh, thank God.” I push myself up and out of the driftwood throne I’ve occupied for the better part of the day and stretch the kinks out of my back and shoulders.

Everything hurts.

My back is stiff from sitting for too long, and my thighs hurt from having an endless line-up of kids — and the occasional adult — sit on them all day. My cheeks ache from smiling waaay too much, my ass is so numb I’m not entirely sure it’s still attached to my body, and don’t even get me started on my balls….

Fuck me.

What a day.

When my best friend’s sister invited me to spend the day with her at Melbourne’s iconic Brighton Beach — you know the one, with the long line of brightly painted bathing huts that wedding photographers clamour over — I jumped at the opportunity. Spend the day with the woman I’ve lusted after for years while she parades around in one of those skimpy bikinis she’s so fond of?

Fuck yeah!

And sure, maybe I could catch a few waves while we’re there, show off my very grown-up, non-brotherly physique to the woman who once told me a. she’d never date one of her brother’s mates, and b. she’d never, ever be interested in someone so much younger than her.

Like a ten year age difference made her old or something.

Women!

Anyway, I rock up, surfboard in hand, and what does she do? Hands me a beach bum Santa costume consisting of little more than a pair of boardshorts and a Santa hat, shoves me in front of a camera and starts charging people money to let their precious little darlings crawl all over me and tell me their Christmas wishes. Which, okay — crushed ball-sack aside — was actually pretty cool, especially the kid who wanted total world domination so he could end bullying everywhere. I didn’t have the heart to point out the flaw in his plan, and judging by the look on his dad’s face, neither did he.

“You did a good job today, Chris,” Holly says as she packs away her camera equipment, then laughs. “I can’t wait to show Mikey that shot of the granny in your lap.”

I slip my Santa hat off my head and shove it in my pocket. “I’ll have you know her name was Phillipa, she’s only seventy-five years old, and she said I reminded her of her late husband.”

“She licked your face.”

“She wanted to know if I tasted like him, too,” I say with a grin. “I’d reckon the saucy old dame did it to win a bet, actually. I saw her and her friend exchange a tenner after she collected her photo. And you know Mike hates it when you call him Mikey, right?”

“Of course. Why do you think I do it?” she says with a wink that makes my breath stall in my chest and my legs go weak at the knees. “Seriously, though. Thanks for today. I know I blindsided you with it.”

“You know, you could have just told me what you wanted me for,” I say as I step down from the dais and discreetly adjust my aching package. “It is for charity. And you know us firemen. We love any excuse to take our shirts off.”

She looks up at me from under long, blonde lashes. “After the calendar shoot fiasco I wasn’t sure how willing you’d be to help me.”

Ah, yes. The calendar fiasco. I snort a laugh and shake my head. “I run into burning buildings for a living, Hols. On purpose. Did you really think a little dog shit would keep me away?”

Holly laughs, the full-bodied sound bursting from within her and shaking her deliciously plump figure with the force of it.

Good God, I want to eat her all up.

Starting right between her—

“It was more than a little dog shit. That poor pup had the worst diarrhoea I’ve ever seen. You were covered in it. I have photos. I was thinking of blowing one up and giving it to your mum for Christmas.”

Cocking an eyebrow at her obvious glee, I fold my arms over my chest and grin. “You just love humiliating me, don’t you?”

“Call it a hobby,” she says with a shrug, her pretty mouth curved in a smile of honest good humour. A smile that has my cock twitching with interest as I imagine how those sweet lips would feel wrapped around its rock hard length.

Fuck.

The last thing I need right now is a hard-on. I’m almost thankful for the sudden wind that whips past us, stinging my legs with flying sand.

From Underneath The Mistletoe by Ava Bari

The officer who’d found her daughter was still there, and Amelia had yet to even acknowledge him. She rubbed her eyes and kept Grace at her hip as she looked up at the taller man… and instantly regretted choosing her most unflattering nightgown to wear to bed.

“Mrs. Eliot, I’m Officer Zanetti,” he said, offering a hand. She tried to ignore how strong his grip was. His hand was huge and completely engulfed hers.

“Thank you so much for finding my daughter, Officer,” Amelia said. “I really can’t thank you enough.”

“It’s all in a day’s work, Ma’am,” he said, his smile bringing her back to her teenage years when she’d fawned over boy band members and actors.

She thanked him several more times as the other cops left and Grace began to yawn and lean heavily on her mother. Deciding to save all punishments until tomorrow, Amelia hoisted Grace into her arms. “I think I’d better get her to bed now.”

Officer Zanetti nodded. “Yeah you should.” He leaned over, catching Grace’s attention. She was half-asleep but awake enough to listen when he spoke. “Stay in bed this time, okay? Remember what we said.”

“Uh huh.” She took the letter out of her pocket and then, for whatever reason, handed it to the officer. “You promise Santa will read it?”

“If he doesn’t, I will read it to him myself,” he swore, as serious as if he had his hand on the Bible.

“Okay, but don’t open it until you see him,” Grace said. She nestled into the thick cottony fabric of Amelia’s nightgown and was asleep in seconds. Amelia gave Officer Zanetti a questioning look.

“Ah yeah…” He rubbed his neck. “I might have told her I work for Santa Claus to get her to come with me.”

Amelia chuckled. Her heart had yet to slow down all the way, but there was something hilarious about this tough guy cop getting embarrassed. “You’re a Christmas elf?”

“A bodyguard, thank you,” he said, affronted.

“That would’ve been my next guess.” He certainly looked the part, as the unhelpful part of Amelia’s brain was quick to point out.

They stood in awkward silence for a time until Grace shifted in Amelia’s arms, reminding her they probably shouldn’t stand outside in freezing cold weather. Officer Zanetti seemed to realize this at the same time. He coughed and stuffed his hands in his pockets.

“Okay, looks like everything is good here. I’ll let you two get some sleep.”

“Would you like some coffee before you go?” Amelia asked. “I feel like I owe you for finding my daughter.”

“Just keep her safe in bed tonight, Ma’am,” he said, walking back to his car. “Have a Merry Christmas.”

“You too,” Amelia called out, but he’d already started his engine, and she had no idea if he heard her.

Blurb:

Two scarred souls: one physically, one mentally. Both on the mend, hiding from their pasts…

Mace Walker can’t wait to get home. Being buried deep undercover for the past two years, on the most complex case of his career, has torn him down physically and mentally. Now the FBI agent has come home to recover after having his leg badly injured from a gunshot wound. Arriving home late one night, his relief is short-lived as he’s faced with a stranger pointing a gun to his head, acting like he is the one who doesn’t belong there! Colby Parks, a biochemist at the local university, had come to town a year earlier to escape an abusive relationship. She vows never to put herself in that situation again. Then the perfect opportunity comes along: house-sitting for Mace’s sister while making the house she purchased habitable. But she couldn’t anticipate this big snag: the one wearing the tight Levi’s and worn leather jacket, looking like he had just escaped prison. Being forced to share a house creates sparks between them in more ways than one. However, things take a turn when their pasts catch up to them, threatening to pull them apart forever.

Excerpt:

Late in the afternoon, Mace heard a car drive up and opened the front door to see who it was. He surprised himself; he never even looked out the peephole first. It felt good to open a door without fear of some thug blowing holes in him. Three days home, and he was starting to relax already.

Colby parked a bright red, but older, convertible next to his not so bright, old Ford truck. He spotted the groceries in the back seat and went to help her.

“Sharp,” he said, snagging a couple of the bags.

Colby handed him a third and grabbed one herself. “Me or the car?”

“Both. I didn’t think you had a vehicle.”

“It was at the garage. Needed a water pump.”

He followed her into the house. “Yeah? Too bad I didn’t arrive sooner. I’m great with cars.”

“And women?” she tossed over her shoulder.

He grinned. “Them too.”

“Did you learn your mechanical skills at—”

Mace dropped the grocery bags on the kitchen table in time to cover her mouth with his hand. “Don’t. I’ve had enough of your jailhouse wisecracks.”

His fingers against her warm, moist lips immediately sent a shock wave down to his groin. He wanted to run his thumb along her bottom lip and then dip it in and out of her mouth until it was wet. He would follow his thumb with his tongue. And other things. Or just one other thing: his aching, swollen cock. His eyelids lowered with need until Colby stepped away from him, breaking his contact, breaking into his thoughts.

“Too close to home?” she asked, her voice a little shaky.

Good. Maybe he affected her like she affected him. “No.”

“So, tell me what you do for a living.”

He broke eye contact first, because if he hadn’t, he would have pushed her Miss Proper skirt up and slammed his cock home very improper-like against the kitchen cabinet. Frontward, backward, he wouldn’t be picky.

Instead, he concentrated hard on the subject at hand. “You first. What do you do with your days, Ms. Parks?”

“You’re avoiding the question. Finish carrying in the groceries while I unpack them, and then, and only then, I might play your little game, Mr. Walker.”

If she only knew what game he really wanted to play with her…

He behaved himself and brought in the rest of the bags. Settling into a chair, he regarded Colby while she started dinner.

“Are you an MCP?”

A what? He shot her a questioning look.

“A male chauvinist pig,” she clarified. “Don’t you cook or clean or do laundry?”

Mace smiled. “I try to avoid it at all costs.”

“So, who normally does all your domestic duties?”

“Here we go with the questions again. You still need to answer mine.”

She gave a little shrug. “Fine.”

He stood and moved in behind Colby. She started when she turned around and found him so close. Close enough to feel her heat. And make him lose his mind.

“What are you doing?”

The tremble in her voice caught his attention and threw a little cold water on his steaming hot libido. “Helping. I assume that’s what you wanted when you started in on the male chauvinist crap.”

When her relief was obviously clear, Mace shook his head. Three days had gone by. They’d eaten meals and watched TV together, and he had even helped her paint her yellow kitchen. Not to mention the make-out session in the hallway yesterday. But she still hadn’t relaxed around him yet.

Thinking about their up-close and personal time on Sunday made his cock snap right back up to attention. But he needed to be cautious. Even though he wanted to get down and dirty with her, discover all her secrets, he couldn’t push too hard. Not yet. He didn’t want to scare her away. Hell, if he wasn’t careful, the sexual tension would kill him.

“You’ve read my mind. You can make the salad.”

If they were reading each other’s minds, he was in trouble. Because right now, his mind was dirty, dirty, so fucking filthy. He imagined digging his fingers deep into her fireball mane while she sucked him off. She would be on her knees, and he would be guiding her head back and forth. Her wet mouth around his cock, little moans escaping her lips…

Mace bit off a groan and removed the rinsed vegetables out of the colander where they’d been drip-drying. He grabbed a cutting board and sat back down at the table to chop them. He had to concentrate on something else. Like lettuce.

GOODBYE 2017, HELLO 2018

2017 has been quite an interesting year. I have done so much, and there is still so much that I want to learn and do.

I mentioned before how I am an author who suffers from a chronic illness called fibromyalgia. There are so many days that I want to leave the writing behind. The pain sometimes gets so bad, but I have made so many accomplishments this year.

I joined RWA and RWA NYC in January 2017. I was welcomed with open arms by supportive people. Authors and writers at all stages of the game, all simply wanting to share their love of romance by painting their words onto their pages. I have been afforded so many opportunities like the RWA LIRW annual conference which put me in the path of an agent I am interested in. I was one of the attending RWANYC authors at the Brooklyn Book Festival, a festival that I’ve been to many times. I was able to have my first ever romance reading from one of my novellas. And those things were possible simply because I’m a member of RWA, interacting with genuine and helpful people.

From a writing aspect this was more of an experimentation year for me. I wrote stories simply to see if I can do it. I wrote them and learned what I needed to work on, and what is more my niche. I also was able to step outside of my comfort zone. Learning my strengths and the things I need to get better at with my writing as I continue down the author path. I also won a Summer Indie Book Award, getting first place in diversity for my novella CATCH ME IF I FALL. It was an honor and a shock. One that also confirmed that I was on the right path. I hope I can continue to do the same.

On a personal note, I am a mom of three cubs as I call my children, I was able to still get my bachelor’s degree in developmental psychology. My oldest and middle cub both had graduations right after mine, and I was in awe how I was still able to make sure that they were on top of their game when it came to their school work, and still manage to graduate magna cum laude.

I say these things, not to toot my own horn, but more to look back on what I’ve been able to accomplish over the years. I was so stressed about what I had to do, that I had to sit back and really look back on the things I did get done. And while there were many bumps on the road, they still got done.

I have plans for 2018. I am still working out what and when, but I do have plans. I do have goals that I want to achieve that would further my career as an author. I want to try new things with my voice and break molds. I want to be confident in every move I make next, and I am ready.

Nevertheless, she persisted. My motto that I used for 2017, and I tend to use it for 2018 with a slight amendment. Which one? I’m not quite sure yet. But, I am ready and excited for what’s to come next for me.♥
